This project aims to work with private and public sector partners to improve the outcomes of youth and families connected to government care through a network of friendly landlords. The project is inspired by the At Home/Chez Soi project which found that Vancouver’s hardest-to-house could be placed in “private market rentals with numerous landlords successfully”. This project is based on the premise that there is un-tapped desire among private-sector landlords to be part of the solution to homelessness, and aims to create the type of supports that parented young adults receive when leaving home for the first time.
The Friendly Landlord Network is currently housed at Aunt Leah’s Place
