The Friendly Landlord Network
Connecting youth and families from government care to safe, affordable rental housing across Metro Vancouver and Whistler.
In BC, when a child in foster care turns 19, their government support is cut-off. These youth no longer have housing, regular financial assistance or access to a social worker. As a result, nearly half of them will experience homelessness.
The Friendly Landlord Network is designed to address this housing gap, by connecting youth and families from care, with home owners and property managers who want to be part of the solution.
Each tenant is supported by a local partner organization, who helps provide landlords with market rent and ongoing tenancy support.
